During the system development phase, SoHaR personnel perform the following activities:
- Statements Of Work (SOW): Definition of the tasks, schedules, and deliverables for
reliability, maintainability, and logistics programs on large, as well as small,
projects.
- Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Specifications: Definition of the reliability,
maintainability, and availability requirements that will support the customer's
operational concepts.
- R&M Allocation, Prediction and Analysis: Determining the best allocation of
subsystem lower level R&M requirements from top level R&M requirements.
- Cost-Effectiveness and Trade-Off analysis: Modeling, prediction, and financial analysis
to determine the most cost effective options for reliability, sparing, training,
response time, and other support resources.
- Life Cycle Cost: Prediction of life cycle costs from the research through the operational
phases.
- Optimal Repair Level Analysis (ORLA/LORA): Determining the best maintenance and
repair concepts to support the operational phases.
- Participation in design reviews at the hardware, software, and system levels.
